Academic awards recognize exceptional students

Middletown High School students who had a 3.5 grade point average or higher were commended on Nov. 17. The students were given a letter and a lamp pin if it was the first time they had recieved an award, otherwise they were given a bar pin. Students with many meritorious service hours were also recognized. At the start of the ceremony seniors Sayre Posey, Maddie Nissel, and Maria Skowronski played several songs on violin and seniors Timmy Huth and Tara Forseth sang the national anthem. Former MHS graduate Cameron Davis also spoke about her experiences at MHS and in college that motivated her to be successful. – Photos by Blair Donald
