The Varsity Boys Soccer team valiantly defeated the TJ Patriots last night, with a whopping 5-0 shutout.

Coach Jeff Colsh had the boys wear 30 year old Middletown jerseys for retro night, and says that “they played in a way to make the alumni proud.”

Just 2 minutes into the game Clay Smith netted a nice goal and set the frame of mind for the entire game.

By the mid first half Jon Jon Tatem and Micah Benson had given the knights two more, and keeper Eric Reichelt was holding his own against the sparse Patriot attacks.

Right before the half, Devon Tan assisted Micah Benson in his second goal of the night, putting the knights in a 4-0 lead.

In the second half the Patriots attack increased, but the back line and Reichelt held strong against the attack.

With the clock running down, Robbie Rockwell passed to Sam Dorsey who would score the fifth and final goal of the night.

“There is no time for rest,” says Colsh “We have a tough match against us on Thursday.”

The team will take on Linganore on Thursday night, and it is also senior night.

The JV boys lost 1-0 against, but coach Paul Stalnaker is looking to take down the Linganore JV team on Thursday night.
