Boys Soccer: Knights look to take down the Titans in opener

Knights head up in the mountains, will try to assert county dominance against one of county’s best teams.

The Middletown High School boys soccer team will be traveling to Mount Saint Mary’s today to take on the Tuscarora Titans, in both team’s first game of the season.

The Knights are looking to take their hot streak into their first game after dismantling . Boonsboro and Catoctin in two scrimmages with 4-0, and 1-0 wins respectively.

The Knights defense played a vital role in these two games. Senior Caleb Abel, junior Marshall Truitt and sophomore Ryan Tuckey didn’t let much by them, but if they did sophomore Goalkeeper’s Eric Reichelt and Zach Peters cleaned it up.

These first few games are vital for the Knights as they look to gain experience after graduating 12 seniors, who led the Knights to a 10-5-1 record. This team is without much starting experience, and only carries four seniors on the roster. Seniors Connor Smith, Justin Hohl, Caleb Abel and Lucas Tatem all earned the role of captain.

The Titans meanwhile, look like they are poised to be one of the best teams in the county. They have loads of experience as they carry eight seniors.
