In the news:

John Allen Muhammed, known as the D.C. Sniper from 2002, will be executed on Nov. 10 by lethal injection, according to Virginia Officials.

Larry Taylor, a spokesman for the department of corrections, says that Muhammed had the choice between lethal injection and electrocution but refused to choose between the two. It is a state law that lethal injection be the default method for execution.

According to the Frederick News Post’s Associated Press, Muhammed’s lawyers have asked for pity, and plan to “file an appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court early next month.”

What people are saying

“I think it would have been a better punishment for Muhammed to be put in prison with maximum security; he deserves to suffer” said Dan Goldstein, a sophomore at Middletown High School.

Allison Bussard, a junior at MHS thinks Muhammed definitely deserves the death penalty because “he took lots of lives, and put many people in danger.”
