In the news:
Police believe that about a dozen people watched a 15-year-old girl get gang-raped after her Homecoming dance in Richmond, California, according to ABC News.
The brutal gang-rape was said to have lasted two and a half hours in a back alley just outside of the school.
As many as ten people witnessed the rape, and none called the police. The Richmond police have arrested three people as of Oct. 27, and are confident that there will be more arrests to come.
What people are saying:
“Nothing like this would ever happen at our Homecoming. Plus we already have cops there.”- Middletown High School sophomore Brittany Wishner.
“If I saw that happening I would definitely do something about it. I wouldn’t just stand there and watch it happen.”- MHS senior Nick Whitney.

why is this on the website? honestly screen your news
“Screen your news.” News isn’t meant to be screened. Censorship isn’t something that should be practice. This piece, while saddening, is a prime piece for warning others, especially around your school, about the dangers of what can happen.
I agree. Censorship is a terrible thing, and should be used with the greatest of caution. We teenagers need to be reminded that these things happen in the world and take precautions against them.
