This Friday the Middletown Knights’ basketball team will play the Tuscarora Titans in the game of the week.  The Knights are coming off an exciting one point victory over the Walkersville Lions.

The Knights have improved a lot from last year and have started off the season with a record of 6-3 and hope for this success to continue despite a difficult schedule.

The Titans were 8-0 and playing well before getting blown out by TJ on Tuesday, Jan. 5.  The Patriots outscored Tuscarora 54-29 in the second half and handed the Titans their first loss of the season.

Senior Sam Glushakow said, “we’ve become more focused at practice and our hard work is starting to pay off.”

Despite the success the team has had lately, it expects Tuscarora to be its most difficult opponent yet. 

Senior captain Kevin Harris said, “it’s going to be a tough game.  They’re one of the top teams in the county.”

“We will have to take care of the ball, they’re a very aggressive and athletic team defensively,” added Harris.

Both Harris and Glushakow commented on how the team has grown closer together as the season has progressed and believe that this “team oriented” attitude is contributing to their improvement on the court.

Come out and support the team this Friday as they look to improve its record to 7-3 and win back to back games against top ranked teams in the county.
