The girl’s varsity softball team is ready for a new season and a fresh start.

Though the lady knight’s have had rocky seasons in the past, with their chins held high, they hope to start this season with a new reputation.

“This season I expect that the team will go far,” said MHS senior Nikki Frock. “I know people think the softball team is not very good but this year we are coming in hot to prove everyone wrong.”

The girls feel that their main goal this season is to come together as a team and work together. “I hope that we can come together and really focus on limiting our mistakes in the field,” said sophomore Meagan Parker.

Parker said “All of us have to be ready to step it up to the next level in order to improve. My goal is just to play as best as I can every game, just like I know all my other teammates will.”

Along with being pumped for the new season, the girls are excited to be working with Coach Sara Waslter.  “She’s very encouraging to all of the players and helps us learn how to fix our mistakes on the field,” says Frock. “Even when we don’t perform as well as we could during games, she stays positive and never lets us give up.”

The team, already beginning to come together, is prepared to work out a few kinks and gear up for a successfull season.
