Is J.K. Rowling in over her head or hitting another wave of success?

In 2001, J.K. Rowling wrote a book called “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them”. The book is in the Harry Potter series as one of the student’s textbooks; it explained all of the magical creatures in the wizarding world and where the may be located.

Warner Bros. announced on Sept. 12, 2013 that they were producing a film inspired by the book. This has left the world of Harry Potter fans wondering what is in store in the upcoming movie.

“I am both excited and intreuged to see what this new movie will hold,” said Middletown High School freshman Morgan Runyan, who says she is a die-hard Harry Potter fan.

“I am excited for this movie because Harry Potter is the best movie and book series to exist,” said MHS freshman Amanda Smith.

Some MHS teachers felt the same way.

Sara Seiser, MHS career and technology education teacher, said that she didn’t know there was a new movie coming out. She said, “I want ‘The Cursed Child’ to be made into a movie,” which is a play Rowling is writing as a sequel to the Harry Potter series.

Despite the excitement people seem to be feeling, some students had concerns about the upcoming film.

MHS sophomore Maggie Williamson said, “It’s gonna be challenging to top these last couple movies and keep people as interested.”

“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is scheduled for release on Nov. 18, hopefully it will meet the standards of what will keep those people interested.
