On January 14, everyone in the state of Hawaii received an emergency alert on their phones that read, “BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.” It was later announced the alert was a mistake due to human error. MHS students give their reactions to the scare.

Nancy Siguenza is a junior at Middletown High School. She is currently in her second semester of journalism. She plans to continue taking journalism throughout high school. Nancy plays lacrosse for MHS and is planning on playing  the sport while attending a four-year college and majoring in business.

Megan Roeder is a senior at Middletown High School. Although she is in Journalism 2, this is only her first semester of the course. Outside of school, Megan is on the field hockey and track team, and enjoys reading and traveling. After graduating Megan plans to attend Towson University for a double major of media communications and graphic design. Her favorite class has always been English, and regardless of no longer wanting to be an author she plans to write the rest of her life.
Tessa Hauser

Tessa Hauser is a senior at Middletown High School and is taking on her third and fourth semesters of journalism this year. You'll catch her jumping into the position of RT Today Executive Producer. Tessa is captain of the Middletown girls tennis team and her subject of choice is math (preferably calculus). In her free time, Tessa enjoys watching food videos and rereading "The Selection". She plans to continue writing and creating videos after high school as a hobby, but is preparing to major at a four-year college in biomedical engineering. A year from now, you may catch her at Johns Hopkins, University of Delaware, or University of Maryland. For now, she's trying to learn how to French braid.
