Ryan’s ‘Views’ on Drake’s new album

Ryans Views on Drakes new album

Drake, a renowned musician from Toronto, Canada, released his fourth album ‘Views’ on April 29. It’s a mix of the soulful R&B singing and rap many have come to love from Drake. His career has progressed successfully over the years with his previous albums and duets like “Take Care” with Rhianna, but this new album really shows how he has evolved as an artist. It sounds like he knows that he is one of the most popular rappers in the world right now.

Songs like “Weston Road Flows” and “Views” sound like they could have been on his third album ‘Nothing Was the Same’, which was released in 2013, but “9” and “Controlla” are totally different from anything he’s ever done before, really showcasing his new sound.

This album did something a little bit different than the others by having the songs transition into each other as the album is played. And for anyone that doesn’t know, if Drake starts a song with the phone ringing, it’s going to be an amazing song.

The best songs on the album are “With You”, “Still Here”, and “Controlla” because of the way his flows and tone of voice compliment the beat in the background. “Still Here” is the least R&B track on the album. It has some of the hardest rap and it’s one of the only songs on the album to not have any singing in it. “With You” features the artist PARTYNEXTDOOR where they harmonize together in a catchy way. “Controlla” adds a fun beat to the album and is a nice song to just chill and listen to.

Out of the whole album, “Redemption” is probably the worst song. It’s slow and doesn’t have a lot of rap, plus it’s the most like a break up song on the album.

Overall, the album is fire and an easily enjoyable album, especially if you’re a Drake fan to begin with. If not, listen to it.
