Attention Mrs. Shriner’s third block Forestry and Wildlife class: Please meet Mrs. Shriner at the large cottonwood tree by the tennis courts today immediately following lunch. You can put your things in her room before lunch or bring them with you to the tree. Move swiftly so we can see if it is the state champion!

 

Tickets for the Varsity Football Game versus Urbana will be on sale in the school store in the cafeteria today during lunches and in the front office tomorrow from 8 AM to 3 PM. Prices are 5 dollars for adults, 2 dollars for students, and 1 dollar for student-athletes.

 

All-county band audition applications are due to Mr. Shearer by Thursday, October 27th. Students who will be in concert band or jazz ensemble next semester are eligible to audition. See Mr. Shearer or go to the band website for more information.

Anyone interested in trying out for Varsity or JV boys basketball should attend an informational meeting today at two thirty in the team room. If you are unable to attend, you should email Coach Keimig prior to the meeting.

 

Any boys interested in joining the swim team should report to Ms. Chestnutt’s room, 512, after school today for a brief meeting.

 

Juniors and Seniors: The University of South Carolina had to cancel their visit for this week. We will keep you posted if they reschedule.

 

Attention students interested in the National Cancer Institute at Fort Detrick Werner H. Kirsten Student Internship Program: There will be an informational meeting on Wednesday, October 26th at 2:30 p.m. in Room 436. The application is open now through December 16th. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Gibson in Room 315.

 

Congratulations to the volleyball team who had a huge win against North Hagerstown on Tuesday night.  Erika Pritchard had 24 kills, 5 blocks and 8 digs.  Kirsten Beckner had 19 digs, Erin O’Connor had 7 kills, Megan Cleverly had 20 assists and Kelsey Buckley had 18 assists. The knights take on Boonsboro tonight.

 

Nightmare in the Valley starts this weekend. Come out Friday and Saturday from 6-10 PM and Sunday from 5-9. Kids under 10 are 3 dollars and everyone else is 5 dollars.
