The Gay-Straight Alliance is showing The Laramie Project in the Media Center this Monday after school from 2:30-4:00. The Laramie Project is a film about bigotry and tolerance, fear and courage, hate and hope. Refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome.

The Rotary Club of Frederick is sponsoring their annual Four-Way Test Speech Contest. The contest is open to all 11th and 12th grade students. Cash prizes are awarded for the top 4 places with a first prize of five hundred dollars. If interested, contact Mr. Zimmer in Room 315 by Friday, Dec. 19.

The deadline for The Young Authors’ Contest is Monday, Dec. 15 at 2:30. Students must submit an electronic copy and a paper copy to Ms. Leonard in Room 510. This deadline cannot be extended.

Are you a student who loves art? Do you love the smell of the holidays? Have you ever thought of creating a floral arrangement? Attend our free workshop put on by the horticulture class and take home a holiday evergreen arrangement. All students except those who have had Horticulture are eligible. Come to our workshop on Tuesday, Dec. 16 from 2:30-3:30 in Room 439. No need to sign up ahead of time – just show up if you can!

Attention seniors: Anyone interested in purchasing a senior class long sleeved t-shirt or hoodie must place their order with Mrs. Anderson by December nineteenth. Each senior received an order form in their first period class. Additional order forms are available online or from Mrs. Anderson.

Come out and see the MHS Ice Hockey team take on Washington County at Skate Frederick this evening at 5:30. Hope to see you there!

Mrs. Anders would like to thank the staff and students of MHS for the huge card that was sent to her. She appreciates the thoughtfulness and well wishes and says it brightened her day. She misses everyone and hopes to see everybody in the new year, adding “Happy Holidays and Thank You!”
