Tomorrow is “Camo Tuesday,” so be sure to sport your best camouflage gear. Homecoming tickets are on sale at all lunch shifts and tickets are twenty dollars. All students and guests must have a completed dance guideline form to purchase tickets. Students and guests will not be admitted to the dance after nine PM without prior administrative approval.

Seniors: Starting today, you can cast your vote for the homecoming king and queen. Information can be found on the bulletin board beside the auditorium doors. Voting ends Thursday at two PM.

Spirit Meter Update: The freshmen are in the lead followed closely by the seniors, then the staff, sophomores, and the juniors. You still have four more days to earn points for your class. Start bringing in those canned food items. Boxes are located in the cafeteria. You get one point for every item donated. We have spirit links and duct tape for sale. Check out our minute to win it challenge. Today is junk in the trunk. The carnival game is the ring toss.

If you are interested in trying out for the girls lacrosse team in the spring, there will be a meeting after school on Tuesday, October fourteenth at two thirty in Coach Martin’s room, 422A.

Attention juniors: NCI is hosting an informational meeting about the Werner H. Kirsten Student Intern Program on Friday, October seventeenth at nine thirty at the Advanced Technology Research Center in
Frederick. Applications to the NCI program will be accepted October twenty-ninth through December third and are available online. Please see Mrs. Gibson or Mr. Zimmer in Room 315 for more information.

Attention Students: The Bar Association of Frederick County is offering a free Civics and Law Academy on November eighth from eight thirty to one o’clock at Oakdale High School. Students will have the opportunity to learn about law and society from local attorneys and judges. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in studying law, criminal justice, sociology or anyone who just can’t get enough social studies. New Club request forms are available in the cafeteria starting today and will be accepted until October twenty-second. All new clubs must meet the requirements outlined on the form. Students may sign up to change their current clubs from October twenty-seventh until October thirty-first in the cafeteria.

There will be an important meeting for all students joining the MHS wrestling team this year in portable three on Wednesday, October fifteenth at two fifteen. Important information and forms will be discussed at the meeting. Anyone not able to come to the meeting should see Coach Schartner after school on Thursday, October sixteenth.

The MHS FFA is hosting an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner on Tuesday, October twenty-first from five thirty until seven in the MHS cafeteria. This money will benefit the FFA members attending the National FFA Convention. Dinner will include spaghetti, salad, bread, drinks and dessert. Tickets are eight dollars in advance and ten dollars at the door. Bring additional money for activities. See Ms. Shriner or Ms. Seiser for tickets.

The Fellowship of Christian Athletes will meet Tuesday morning before school at six forty-five in Room 311. Everyone is welcome for a time of faith, fellowship, food, and fun. That’s tomorrow morning before school at six forty-five.

Despite the cool damp weather conditions, the boys cross country team ran very well at the Williamsport Invitational on Saturday. Riley McDermott, Chris Burgenson, David Kelsey, Kelvin Ngo, and Reese Whitesell scored for Middletown earning them fourth place. Cosimo Tauraso led the JV team to a third place finish.
Congratulations to the MHS Marching Knights who placed second in their band competition on Saturday and won for “Best Overall Effect”. Tonight the band will perform at the County Marching Band Festival at Linganore High School at six PM. Come out and enjoy the performances and show your support for MHS!

Congratulations to JV Volleyball who took second place in the Oakdale JV Tournament this past weekend. Kirsten Beckner and Kelsey Buckley were named to the All-Tournament team. Volleyball is home tomorrow night for senior night versus Frederick. Come out and show your support!

Homecoming is an annual tradition of the United States. People, towns, high schools, and colleges come together in the fall to welcome back alumni in celebration of the school and its history.
