We are looking for actors and other funny people for our November Comedy Extravaganza: #ROFL

You can sign up to audition outside Ms. Denton’s room 508. Auditions are this Thursday evening, Sept. 13 or Friday, September 14, after school. See Ms. Denton or Ms. Duva to pick-up required audition papers. Everyone is invited to audition. More details about the comedy’s, the roles and the scenes for auditions are posted on the Drama board outside the auditorium.

Seniors: Today and tomorrow are senior portrait makeup and retakes. Please check the schedule on the auditorium doors for your appointed time. If you don’t get your photo taken today or tomorrow, you may have to go to Baltimore to get it taken. If you are having a photo taken only for use in the yearbook and do not want any additional senior photos, you do not have to pay a sitting fee. Please tell the representative from the studio in the auditorium before you have your photo taken. If you have any questions, please contact Mr. Kady in Room 312 or at [email protected] as soon as possible.

The girls cross country team finished second at the Patriot Invitational.  The varsity girls top seven were Campbell Caldwell in third place, Nelly Stafford in fifth, Renee Washart in 19th, Marin Bartman in 27th, Keren McRea in 38th, Abigail McRea in 40th and Marilyn Fisher in 44th.  In the girls JV race, Nastassia Kaleta, Annushka Aliev, Brynn Poffenbarger, and Lizzie Brown were all among the top 20 finishers. The girls will next race at the Bull Run Invitational on Sept. 22.

Grayson Whitesell led the Middletown boys cross country team yesterday by placing 11th overall out of a field of 62 runners at Thomas Johnsons Patriot Invitation. Middletown’s other scorers were Jerry Bower, Justin Murdock, Zach Spurrier, and Trey Dravvon.  Baron Ropp led the JV squad as our top performer placing 5th out of 65 runners.

Volleyball lost to Urbana in 3 sets, 25-20, 25-20, 25-20.  Sydney Wilber had 8 kills, 7 digs and 2 aces, Maura Doherty had 2 aces, 4 kills and Michele Newkirk had 5 digs, 2 aces and 16 assists.

The Varsity girls soccer team lost 4-1.  Millie Smith scored the lone goal from a free kick. The JV girls soccer team lost a hard fought game to Urbana last night, 1-0.

Middletown field hockey earned a win yesterday 7-0 over TJ High. Goals came from Hayley Barnett, Madison Stewart with 2, Paige Welch with 2 and Aubree Moxley with 2. Kaila Tom tallies the shut out with 1 save! MHS faces CHS on Thursday! MHS field hockey would like to send a huge thank you to Coach Desimone for all his support getting our game scheduled! Also a shout out to Coach Colsh for his support!

Unified tennis season starts soon. See Mr. Bean in room 427 if you are interested in joining the Unified Tennis team.

For anyone interested in playing boys basketball this year, open gym will start on Tuesday, Sept 18th, from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.  Please contact Coach Keimig with any questions.
