Juniors and Seniors who would like to sign up for Science National Honor Society can do so by following the link posted on the SNHS Bulletin board in the cafeteria or posted on Mrs. Brandt’s webpage.  Those who were members last year must reapply this year as well.

Students interested in joining the Spanish Honor Society may pick up an application from Mr. Lupian in room 209. There will be a mandatory meeting for both current members and applicants on Thursday the 27th of this month from 2:30 to 3:00 after school in Room 209.

Are you interested in seeing how Maryland’s government works firsthand? Applications for the student page program at the Maryland General Assembly are available now. Five representatives from Frederick County get a chance to work in Annapolis at the General Assembly two different weeks during the winter and spring.  An application, resume, and one-page essay that responds to the following the prompt, “What is the most pressing issue facing teenagers today?” will be due October second to Mr. Crompton in room 214. To get an application or if you have any questions, see Mr. Crompton in room 214 or any social studies teacher.

SENIORS – Today is the last day to submit your personalized parking applications.  Please bring the application and $20 to Mrs. Gibson during KQ in Room 210, which is the Heritage Room.

If you are interested in joining National Art Honor Society see Mrs. Lehman in room 412 and 419 or see any art teacher for an application. Applications are due to Mrs. Lehman by Monday, October 1, 2018, no later than 2:30 pm. No late applications will accepted.

The following colleges will be visiting MHS soon. Please see guidance for more information: Washington College will be here, Thursday, September 20th, at 10:15 a.m.; Hood College will be here Friday, September 21st, at 10:20 a.m.; Mount St. Mary’s will be here Wednesday, September 26th, at 10:15 a.m.; and Fairmont State University will be here Thursday, September 27th, at 10:15 a.m.

Varsity volleyball lost to North Hagerstown.  Michelle Newkirk had 13 assists, Grace Paulishak had 6 kills and 5 digs. Haley Miller had 7 digs.

For anyone interested in playing boys basketball this year, open gym will start on Tuesday, Sept 18th, from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.  Please contact Coach Keimig with any questions.
