Tomorrow is Unity Day when we all unite against bullying. Wear something orange to show your support and be sure to sign the Unity Banner that will be hanging in the cafeteria.

Attention Freshmen: Anyone that ordered a class of 2018 t-shirt should pick it up from Mrs. Anderson in Room 516.

The National Honor Society will meet on Wednesday, October twenty-second. Members can choose either the two-thirty session in Room 210 or the six o’clock session in the media center. Please bring dues, your signed contract and any service ideas.

Requirements and application packets for the National Art Honor Society can be picked up from Ms. L in rooms 412 and 414. All applications for this school year are due to Ms. L on Monday, October twenty-seventh by two thirty. No applications will be accepted after the due date and time. Returning members do not need to apply again.

Attention Students: The Bar Association of Frederick County is offering a free Civics and Law Academy on November eighth from eight thirty to one o’clock at Oakdale High School. Students will have the opportunity to learn about law and society from local attorneys and judges. This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in studying law, criminal justice, sociology or anyone who just can’t get enough social studies. And it looks great on college applications and resumes! Visit w w w dot Frederick bar dot org to register. See Ms. Pryor or any social studies teacher if you have questions.

Any senior who wishes to participate in costume day on Thursday, October thirty-first, must pick up a copy of the costume guidelines at the school bookstore during all lunch shifts beginning today. Seniors may also pick up guidelines from Mrs. Anderson in Room 516 or Mrs. Boyll in learning cottage number two.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Contest deadline is quickly approaching. If you are submitting a written expression piece, please turn it in to Ms. Leonard in Room 510 by Friday, October twenty-fourth. If you are submitting a visual art piece, please turn that in to Mrs. Lehman no later than October twenty-seventh. There is still time if you would like to make a submission. Please stop by Mrs. Leonard’s office in 510 to pick up information.

Chef, owner, and Master Chocolatier Randy Olmstead from Frederick’s The Perfect Truffle will be at the Middletown Branch Library this afternoon at three fifteen to share his chocolate expertise with teens. Bring a friend and enjoy the mystique and history that is chocolate.

Come out and support the Marching Knights at the Main Cup tonight from five to nine PM. Mention the Marching Knights and a portion of all proceeds will be donated to the support the band.

MHS field hockey defeated Tuscarora last night two to one. Goals were scored by Laura Myers and Ali Williams with assists from Emily Delauter and Tess Queen. Emma Provost netted twelve saves. JV also won three to zero with goals from Jessica Yeager and Andrea Kundrick. Maddie Hillsman is credited with the shut out! Come out and support the team when they face Oakdale in the second round of play offs on Wednesday night at seven at MHS!
