MPSSAA announces new football playoff format

The Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association (MPSSAA) has changed the high school football playoffs format. RT reporters Luke McLister and Jack Schmiel explain how the new format works and get thoughts from Middletown football coaches and players.

Luke McLister, RT Media Special Projects

Luke McLister is a senior at Middletown High School. He is currently in his 5th and 6th semesters of journalism. Luke is on the MHS cross country and track team. Aside from running he enjoys hanging out with family and watching sports. His favorite sports teams are the Washington Football Team, Nationals, Wizards, and the West Virginia Mountaineers. He is also a huge fan of the college basketball March Madness tournament. If you gave Luke chocolate milk or chicken nuggets you would easily become one of his favorites. Luke enjoys filming and making highlight reels for various of the school's sports teams. He is very passionate about sports communications and would love to pursue a career in it.

Jack Schmiel is a senior at Middletown High School. This is currently his fourth semester in journalism. Jack plays basketball and in his free time, Jack enjoys playing video games, playing basketball, lifting weights and spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoys watching sports, particularly football and basketball. Jack will attend the University of Maryland next year where he will study computer science. Jack’s favorite sports teams are the Washington Football Team, Wizards, Nationals, and the Maryland Terrapins basketball team.
