STEM speakers visit MHS

Last Friday, four speakers from the world of science, technology, engineering and math visited Middletown High School to speak with students on club day.  The speakers shared information about their careers and experiences in these STEM-related fields.  The speakers included: Joseph Vaz, an aerospace engineer; Geoff Arnold, a broadcaster for the Frederick Keys; Lieutenant Brian Moore, an Army veterinarian; and Ronald Tosh, a nuclear radiologist.

Abbe Pannucci is a sophomore at Middletown High School. This is her third semester in journalism and she is very excited about continuing to develop her journalistic skills. Abbe loves to write feature stories and produce videos about people and events that are important to her. In 2015, Abbe won the Frederick News Post Mike Powell Excellence in Journalism Award for Best Online Storytelling. She also participated in the Middletown Middle School “Knights Post” newspaper and won for Frederick County in the 2014 Young Authors Contest. In her free time, Abbe enjoys running cross country for the MHS and improving her amateur kick boxing and boxing career.
