The phone battle continues

Continuing on its journey to take down the Apple empire, Samsung has recently come out with two new and exciting phones. Unlike Apple which releases a new phone once every couple years, Samsung spits them out almost every month. This month the Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5 are the challengers which Samsung hopes will knock Apple out.

Middletown High School sophomore and Apple user Lauren Harrington said she thinks that by releasing a new phone each month Samsung gives Apple an even “bigger hype” when they do come out with something new because it seems like a “bigger deal”.

“Samsung never builds up the anticipation or gets people excited by having a new product each month,” said MHS sophomore Keirstin Renninger.

MHS sophomore Nathan Duke said he would be frustrated if he got a new phone and the next month an even newer phone came out because “no one could ever have the newest thing.”

Forget Apple, Samsung could be its own killer by having two smartphones competing with each other at the same time as the famous iPhone.

“They should wait a year to release a new phone and try to get people more excited,” said Harrington.

Grace Sheedy, MHS sophomore, said she thinks it’s a huge waste of money to come out with two phones in the same month.

“Not enough people will buy it,” said Sheedy.

“Apple is just better anyway” added Harrington.
