    There will be an informational meeting regarding the Science Internships at Fort Detrick for the National Cancer Institute and U S A M A R I I D on Thursday, Oct.30 at 2:30 in Mrs. Duva’s Room, 514. If you are interested in the Internship, but not able to make the meeting, please see Mrs. Gibson or Mr. Zimmer in room 315 to get the information.

    Attention Student Writers: Are you inspired by John F. Kennedy’s courage? The winner of the annual John F. Kennedy Profile in Courage Contest receives ten thousand dollars. A second-place winner receives one thousand dollars and up to five finalists receive five hundred dollars each. The winner will also receive an expense-paid trip and receive recognition at the John F. Kennedy Presidential Library and Museum in Boston, Massachusetts. The deadline for the Profile in Courage Contest is January 5, 2015. See Ms. Leonard in Room 510 if you are interested in entering this contest.

    There will be a mandatory meeting for the Science National Honor Society today at 2:20 in the Media Center. Members who cannot make it to the meeting due to a school activity must see Mrs. Brandt before the meeting time.

    Juniors and Seniors: The following universities will be visiting Middletown in the next couple of weeks: Millersville, Lock Haven, West Virginia, Mansfield, Frostburg, Virginia Tech, Shippensburg, Radford, and University of Pittsburgh. Please make sure to sign up through your Naviance account or in the Counseling Center.

    Boys basketball will be holding drop-ins today right after school from 2:30-4:0o.

    The Middletown JV football team finished their season at 4 and 4 with a 39-0 win over Walkersville. Kyle Broadbent, Brandon Jones and Andrew Wenner all scored for the Knights and Gabe Berger had two extra points.

    The freshmen football team played their last game last night and lost to Walkersville. They ended their season with a record of seven and one. Congratulations on a successful season! Go Knights!
