Getting into the “Spirit” of Halloween

Monsters, ghosts, zombies, Lady Gaga and MTV’s Jersey Shore? Halloween is coming around and there are some new, popular styles trending for 2010.

The top three most popular Halloween costumes are styles replicating MTV’s reality stars in Jersey Shore, fashions from popular movies such as Alice in Wonderland, and the distinctive look of pop star Lady Gaga.

If you go to any Halloween store such as Party City, Spirit, or your local Walmart, you can find costumes of all sorts. Prices can range from $20 to much more, depending where you shop and how much you want to spend. But if you create a look from apparel that you already own you can save money.

“Fist pumpin it like a champ”. Jersey Shore has become a very popular trend for Halloween after its season two debut. All of the stars: Snooki, Pauly D, Mike (the situation), J-WOWW, Sammi, Ronnie, Angelina, and Vinny are the stars to be. From Snooki’s hair pouf to The Situation’s rock hard abs, shoppers can buy any accessory or costume to replicate the look of the cast.

The Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts are some of the trendiest characters from Alice in Wonderland. Shoppers can pick up unique hats, gloves, costumes, and makeup to complete the Johnny Depp-inspired look for the Mad Hatter. The Queen of Hearts is a different challenge. A dress similar to a deck of cards with the classic heart design on it is a must. Complete the look with soft pink and white makeup and a crown to top off this look.

Sequins, tight tops and short dresses. Lady Gaga has now become a Halloween costume. The costume trends are based off her actual looks from her music videos such as “Poker Face”, “Paparazzi”, and “Alejandro”. Lady Gaga’s asymmetrical dresses and outfits are often hard to replicate. Try actually buying a costume to duplicate her hard-to-find style.

Make this Halloween 2010 a memorable experience and create a costume that you find fun and exciting.
