Middletown High School students are going to be attending a field trip to see the Broadway musical “Once On This Island” in February of 2018. “Once On This Island” is a popular broadway musical about a young peasant girl who brings people from different social classes together with love. The musical first ran from 1990 to 1991 and was revived on December 3, 2017.

Students attending the trip spoke about their previous experience with New York City

MHS freshman, Rebecca Carroll says “I went to New York when I was in about third grade, I think it was over spring break, we went and did regular tourist stuff, and then we went and saw Wicked, which was pretty great.”

MHS science teacher, Maria Duva, an organizer for the field trip says that she has never seen the musical before but has listened to the soundtrack and says “I’m pretty sure that I will cry because it’s such a beautiful story.”

Other students commented on the cost of the field trip.

Camille Zeigler MHS freshman says that the amount of the field trip is expensive, but the experience of getting to see a Broadway production is priceless.
