SENIORS – Don’t forget to be checking Naviance for scholarships!  Log into Naviance, go to the colleges tab and click on Scholarship List. There are MANY scholarships posted. Also, check the site regularly for additional scholarships.

In this week’s Middletown Citizen, Nicole Powell is featured as the Student of the Week. Sharon Szpara, Middletown High School mathematics teacher, nominated Powell. Szpara said, “I appreciate her determination and positive attitude.” Check out reporter Leah Heon’s feature on Powell in the Citizen.

Key Club will be selling holiday candy grams, “Kisses for Bear” on all lunch shifts Monday thru Thursday. $1.00 each. Candy Grams will be delivered next week during KQ.  Money raised will be donated to the “Bear’s Bark” fundraiser, which is raising money to help a dog with heartworm disease in rural Louisiana. The Middletown Knights wrestling team opened the season with a 58-21 victory at South Carroll High School.  Congratulations to all wrestlers. Individual winners included: Aiden Waters, Landen Harbaugh, Owen Pannucci, Jeremy Farran, Jason Guglielmini, Clarke Cheairs, Jordan Hoy, David Rapp, Zach Brady, and Vince Green.  The wrestling team also competed at the Scorpion Duals at Oakland Mills High School last Friday and Saturday. The Knights went 7-1 for the tournament, with wins over C. H. Flowers, Atholton, Calvert, Laplata, Oakland Mills, North Point, and Easton. Middletown’s only loss came to Sparrows Point 37-32. Good job Knights!
