 The MHS pool is looking for lifeguards.  If you are certified and interested, please stop by the pool after school on Thursday, September 27th, or Friday, September 28th, for an on-site interview.  Please bring a copy of your certification with you.

Students who signed up to be a part of Middletown High’s Key Club are reminded that our first club meeting is tomorrow in the auditorium during Knights Quest.  We look forward to seeing you tomorrow and talking about our year of service.

Knights in the Stacks, a group for people who love books and the library, will be meeting during Knight’s Quest on Monday, October first. Sign up in the media center. See Ms. Weaver for more details.

MHS Inspired Guest Speaker series welcomes back Ryan Morse of Crucible Performance next Tuesday, October second, during Knight’s Quest. Ryan is a strength and conditioning coach, personal trainer, and motivator.  He has a passion for helping people unleash the incredible that lives inside each and every one of us. Ryan has helped many people that have come across his path, ranging from the youngest athlete to the ballplayer playing in Major League Baseball. He aspires to make an impact on millions around the world as he empowers them to adopt the “Cherish The Challenge” mentality and lead extraordinary lives. Stop by the media center to sign up for this MHS Inspired Speaker. See Ms. Weaver with any questions.

Remember, it’s Start With Hello Week! Don’t forget to stop by the media center to write a positive message on a Start With Hello post-it note to share with a fellow Knight.

Seniors – are you planning to apply to UMBC for a STEM related major? You may be interested in the Meyerhoff Scholars Program which awards $5,000 to $15,000 per year to students. If you would like to be nominated for this scholarship, sign up in the counseling center by Monday, October eighth.

Attention, anyone interested in joining the math honor society,  please please pick up an application from Mrs. Anderson in room 516.  Applications for the math honor society are due October fifth.

Students interested in joining the Spanish Honor Society may pick up an application from Mr. Lupian in room 209. There will be a mandatory meeting for both current members and applicants on Thursday, September 27th, from 2:30 to 3:00 after school in Room 209.

If you are interested in joining National Art Honor Society see Mrs. Lehman in room 412 and 419 or see any art teacher for an application. Applications are due to Mrs. Lehman by Monday, October first, 2018, no later than 2:30 pm. No late applications will accepted.

The following colleges will be visiting MHS soon. Mount St. Mary’s will be here today at 10:15 a.m.; and Fairmont State University will be here Thursday, September 27th, at 10:15 a.m.

Congratulations to the golf team on yesterday’s win against Catoctin and Smithsburg. The team was lead by Joey Weiland, who shot 36, and Nic Bradley, who shot 40. The team’s record this year is 10-3.

The girls varsity soccer team won against the visiting Catoctin cougars 8-0.  Goals were scored by Ali Robinson, Jade Catlin (2), Sarah Remp, Gisselle Arias, Ally Pick, Katie Froushour, Bella Gusman.  Molly Faron and Kylie Wells combined for the shut out.

Volleyball lost to Catoctin. Grace Paulishak had 3 kills, 5 digs and 3 blocks, Michele Newkirk had 10 digs and 9 assists.
