Volleyball: Knights look to win its fifth straight

Knights attempt to improve to 7-2 tonight at home against the struggling Mustangs.

The Middletown High School Volleyball team is coming off a dominating victory over the Westminister Owls last Thursday night, and will take on Manchester Valley tonight.

The Knights (6-2) set the tone early and continued at that pace for the rest of the match, beating the Owls 25-17 in the first set and winning the all of the subsequent sets by the same score.

MHS senior Emily Rabat led the Knights to victory, with 12 kills and four aces. MHS senior Sam Higgenbothem contributed nine digs, and senior Olivia Fritz tallied seven digs.

The Mustangs (2-7) are coming off a 3-0 loss to Smithsburg, which was their third loss in three games.

Common opponents so far this year include Thomas Johnson whom the Knights beat in straight sets, and the Mustangs lost to 3-2.

The JV Knights (4-4) on the season will look to go above .500 tonight, after winning its last game against Westminister 2-1.
