Today, December 13th, is the deadline to apply for the 2019-2020 NCI Werner H Kirsten Student Intern Program. Please make sure you have completed your online application.  Teacher recommendations are due by December 24th. Please check in with your teachers to make sure they have completed them. USAMRIID applications are due January 25th. Please see Mrs. Gibson (Room 502) to get a paper application.

Registration for CTC shadowing continues. There are 21 different programs, and students may choose to shadow one or two programs. In addition, a new CTC program, Physical Therapy Studies, is being offered for the 2019-2020 school year. Please see Mrs. Bertulaitis in counseling for more information or to sign up. If you have already shadowed and want to apply, please do so as soon as possible.


Calling all performers! The Cocoa House is happening next Thursday, December twentieth during Knight’s Quest. If you are interested in performing, sign up with Ms. Weaver in the media center. If you are interested in attending, sign up on the Chromebooks in the media center. Hope to see you there!

Seniors: Tell your parents that the deadline for submitting a senior ad in the yearbook is next Tuesday, December. 18. It’s easy to do. Just have them go to Jostens yearbook.com and follow the navigation tabs. If they have any questions, have them email Mr. Kady.

Key Club will be selling holiday candy grams, “Kisses for Bear” on all lunch shifts Monday thru Thursday. $1.00 each. Candy Grams will be delivered next week during KQ.  Money raised will be donated to the “Bear’s Bark” fundraiser, which is raising money to help a dog with heartworm disease in rural Louisiana. Last Friday, the girls varsity basketball team played Urbana and won 52-41.

This Friday the girls and boys varsity team will have a double header against Brunswick at home, in between the games, there will be a ceremony dedicating the basketball court to Coach Ron Engle, who won over 300 games and 11 league titles over 22 years with the boys basketball team. Engle passed away at 75 years old on October 15, 2016. Friends and families will gather to help dedicate the Court to Coach Engle and all are welcome to join.

Last night, the Knights Swimming and Diving team lost in their first meet against Oakdale.  The boys lost with a score of 64-119 while the girls lost with a score of 74-109. First place winners include: Thomas Hartinger, Nellie Stafford, Kathryn Pressly, Ethan Hubble, Jake Wornom, Josie Hall, Kayla Hodor, Liz Brown, Kaila Tom, Lauren Edsall. A special congratulations to Kathryn Pressly for breaking an 11-year old record in the 50 free with a time of 25.18. Next meet will be this Friday at Walkerville against Catoctin.
