Today is Club “B” day.

Are you a creative writer? Have you already written an original short story, essay or poem? Or are you looking for an opportunity to become a published writer? The High School Young Authors Contest is open to students in grades nine through twelve. See Ms. Leonard in Room 510 to pick up a packet or ask any English teacher. This is an excellent way to earn recognition for your creative, hard work by the State of Maryland International Reading Association Council.

Remember to bring in nonperishable food items to your first block class. All items will be donated to the Middletown Valley Food Bank and the top three classrooms will receive a pizza party lunch!

The pre-audition rehearsal for the MHS Dance Team today has been moved to the cafeteria from two thirty to three thirty. Auditions will take place tomorrow at two thirty in the auditorium.

Attention seniors. There are only two days remaining in our Claire’s Gourmet fundraiser. All order forms and payments must be turned in on Friday to either Mrs. Boyll in Learning Cottage number two or Mrs. Anderson in room 516.

Applications for the MHS Social Studies Honors Society, Rho Kappa, are due today to Ms. Purcell in room 211.

The first practice for the Academic Tournament Team will be held after school today in room 216.

There will be a preseason softball meeting tomorrow at two thirty in room 208. All students interested in playing softball for MHS in the spring are encouraged to attend.

Our MHS Ice Hockey team kicks off their season tomorrow at Skate Frederick at four fifteen, followed by game two on Friday night at five thirty. Come watch the fast, hard-hitting action only hockey delivers. See you there!
