Twitter is for twits

Many people today love Twitter. They use it to document daily events, and some, like Newt Gingrich, use it to bash others. In my opinion, Twitter is for, well, twits. Honestly, who wants to know what someone is doing every second of the day? Not me, that’s for sure. I just don’t see the point of it. Whooppee, you’re sitting bored in school, or you’re going out to get the mail. I don’t care.

Gingrich used this new fad to call U.S. Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor a racist. Except he couldn’t really back it up, because with Twitter, a person can only write for 140 characters. That’s less than a text message. If you’re going to use Twitter, then why not just send the same thing in a mass text to everyone you know? You could say more anyways.

Maybe – just maybe – with Twitter you can report sports scores or whatever; besides that, I can’t really see much use for this craze. I wouldn’t really want everyone I’m friends with to know what I’m doing at all times of the day. I like my privacy. It’s all and good for those who want the world to know everything that’s happening in their life, but it’s just not for me.
