Good Morning Knights. Today is Monday, October 11th. Please stand for the pledge.
Five Frederick County principals have been selected for the first-ever National Board Certification program for educational leaders. Middletown High School Principal Jay Berno is among them! Only 25 principals from Maryland were selected to field test the certification program, which is sponsored by the distinguished National Board of Professional Teaching Standards (NBPTS) organization. The NBPTS program for principals has rigorous requirements comprised of nine standards in three areas: skills, applications and dispositions. The requirements are designed to improve instructional leadership and, thereby, student achievement. One of Mr. Berno’s first certification tasks is to conduct a study of the Middletown High School learning community.  Students, teachers, families and others associated with our school will receive a survey to gather data about leadership practices and community.   You will receive additional information in your 4th block class today. By completing the survey, you will contribute not only to Mr. Berno’s certification process but—more important—to the continuous improvement of our school!
Breast Cancer Fact of the day… You are never too young to develop breast cancer. Breast Self-Exams should begin by the age of twenty.
