Announcements: Thursday, April 18, 2013

Don’t miss Middletown’s spring musical, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, this Friday and Saturday at seven, and Sunday at two p.m.  Where else could you find mad vocals, a rockin’ orchestra, Elvis, and Biblical characters in one show?  Did I mention dancing camels? Come out and support your classmates who are singers, actors, musicians, and techies. Tickets on sale during lunch and at the door.

Seniors: please attend the Baccalaureate Meeting tonight at seven in Mrs. Nicklas’ Classroom. We will be solidifying the program at this meeting and assistance is still needed. If you have time, please try to attend.

Middletown SGA will be holding a blood drive on Friday, April 26. You must be sixteen years of age. If you are interested, talk to Mrs. Gibson or Mrs. Anderson or get a Blood Drive form from the SGA Bulletin Board.

Time is running out!  Class of 2013: Now is the time to get your act together to perform at the Senior  Showcase. The show is Saturday, April 27 at seven p.m. in the MHS auditorium.  Please pick up information from Mrs. Boyll or Ms. Leonard. The Commitment Forms are due Monday, April 22 to Ms. Leonard by two-thirty p.m. Without the Senior Showcase, there will not be a Senior Class Picnic.

Tomorrow is club day and students should remember to bring their club passes. Please see your first block teacher if you requested a new club pass.

April is here, and that means it’s time to vote for the Maryland High School Black-Eyed Susan book award! If you have read three or more of the Black-Eyed Susan nominees this year, please come to the Media Center next Tuesday to vote for your favorite title, and to make your own ice cream sundae in our Media Workroom.

Attention all students who would like to earn service learning hours while having a blast helping people: The fifth Annual Boonsboro GreenFest is Saturday, May 11, and Mr. Haardt will be in charge of the Kid Zone and the live music. Look for the GreenFest posters around school or you can log on to www.BoonsboroGreenfest.com to sign up to volunteer. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Haardt or Mr. Zimmer.

Attention Members of the Spanish Honor Society: Graduation cords will be ordered tomorrow, so please bring $6 to Mrs. Bitner in room 517 before two-fifteen on Friday.

Boys Basketball will be holding open gym tonight at MHS from six to eight p.m.

On Wednesday, Middletown Boys Tennis defeated Smithsburg five to zero. Singles winners for the boys were Jason Thomopulos and Taiki Haugen. Doubles winners include Evan Number and Etienne Utiger; Zach Fontenot and Isaac Hoehn; and Alec Barlow and Ali Chaturgha.

Congratulations to Girls Tennis Team who also won over Smithsburg yesterday five to zero.
