Announcements: Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Each year, FCPS students and business representatives come together to improve the quality of living for a Frederick County resident.  We will be participating in the annual Re-building Together program on April 27 from eight a.m until five p.m. This year our students will be helping Ms. Blackwell, who is in need of home repairs. It is a rain or shine event. Please see Ms. Chestnutt or Mrs. Steger for a permission slip.

There will be a brief mandatory meeting on Wednesday, April 24 at two- twenty p.m in room 508 for anyone attending the Art field trip to New York on Friday.

Attention NHS Members: Thank you to all members of NHS who worked at the mulch sale on Saturday.  It was a huge success and everyone did an amazing job.  A special thank you to Jessica Black and Hannah Carter who came up with a system of checks and balances that was incredible.  Thank you to everyone for going above and beyond and exceeding expections on every level.

Another message for NHS Members: The mulch sale was our culminating activity.  If you have not fulfilled your service hours to NHS, the last opportunity to do so will be to donate your time to the MHS PTSA car wash during Teacher Appreciation Week.  The date is April 30 from twelve thirty to three o’clock which is an early dismissal day.  Finally, there are still many students who have not paid their dues or honor cord fees.  Please see Mrs. Baldovin-Jahrling as soon as possible.  Thank you.

Prom tickets are currently on sale during all lunch shifts.  The last day to purchase tickets is Thursday, May 2 with no exceptions. Students attending CTC or work study may purchase their tickets before or after school.  Dance forms must be signed and turned in when purchasing tickets.  No tickets will be sold without a signed Dance Form.  All prom attendees will be required to show photo ID before entering the dance.  Please see Mrs. Mattingly or Ms. Cashdollar with any questions.

Everyone involved in the musical or one hundred and one Dalmatians is invited to vote for drama awards. Ballots are in room 210.  All votes must be received by Wednesday, April 24.

Seniors interested in auditioning to speak or sing at graduation need to sign up and get information from Mrs. Nicklas in room 210.  Auditions will be held Wednesday, May 1 at two-thirty in the auditorium.

Interns are reminded that term four project sheets are due to Mr. Zimmer today.

The blood drive is sooner than you think. If you are interested in donating please contact Mrs. Gibson or Mrs. Anderson. And remember knights…always give one hundred percent…unless you are giving blood.

April is here, and that means it’s time to vote for the Maryland High School Black-Eyed Susan book award! If you have read three or more of the Black-Eyed Susan nominees this year, please come to the Media Center today during all lunch shifts to vote for your favorite title, and to make your own ice cream sundae in our Media Workroom.
