Attention NHS Members: If you have not turned in your service hours to Mrs. Reickel, please do so immediately.  Many students have not met the 15 hour service requirement of NHS.  Perhaps you completed service hours and simply have not turned them in.  Your hours must be recorded by Thursday, May 9.

Seniors: The Myersville Lions Club is offering two $1000 scholarships this year.  The deadline for the application has been extended to Monday, May 13.  Applications are available in the Counseling Center for seniors that live in the Myersville School district.

Attention senior members of National Honor Society: If you are interested in applying for one of the NHS scholarships for this year, please come to room 504 to pick up the application information sheet and application as soon as possible.  You must include an official transcript with your application.

Last Wednesday, at the Middletown FFA banquet, many members were recognized for their achievements over that past year, including their SAE, participating in Career Development, and participating in various fundraisers. The new FFA officers were also announced and sworn in, and they are as follows: Historian, Claire Paulishak; Sentiel, Josh Moore; Reporter, Nikki Cook; Treasurer, Ellie Crum; Secretary, Emily White; Vice President, Emma Brenengen; Junior Advisor, Skylar Weddle; and President, Kiley Slimmer. Congratulations to all our members!

Those FFA students who are being recognized at the Career and Technology Education Student Awards Banquet on May 9 at six p.m. need to wear Official Dress. If you have any questions, please see Ms. Bowman.

The jewelry and sculpture class will be selling one of a kind jewelry during all lunch shifts this Wednesday through Friday. All proceeds will be donated to St. Jude’s children’s hospital. The unique mission of St Jude’s is to find cures for children with cancer and other life-threatening diseases through research and treatment and no family ever pays St. Jude for anything.

Seniors who have Meritorious Service hours for this year, need to submit them to Mr. Zimmer no later than Friday, May 10.  Forms can be picked up outside Mr. Zimmer or Mrs. Gibson’s room or found on the MHS website.

Mu Alpha Theta Seniors: Today is the last day to order a cord for graduation. Remember to get your hours of service completed as well. These are important and tutors are needed.

Mr. Middletown is this Friday, May 10 at seven p.m. in the auditorium. Tickets are five dollars and will be sold during all lunch shifts this week. Only three tickets can be purchased by an individual. Any tickets remaining will be sold at the door.

The SGA will be sponsoring a Say Goodbye to Arvin Day on Thursday, May 23.  For this Event we will be selling “Arvin” t-shirts. The cost is ten dollars, and any proceeds will be used to purchase a gift to the school in Arvin’s name. Stop by to see the design and order your “Arvin” t-shirt.

What will you be doing to celebrate your Mom this Sunday?  Why not stop over to the Middletown Branch Library today after school for “You’re the Best!” Make time to create something special for your Mom! See you there and Happy Mother’s Day!

Congratulations to the tennis doubles team of Zach Fontenot and Isaac Hoehn who won against Oakdale yesterday, six-three, six-four.
