The Middletown Marching Knights performed at local elementary schools on Oct. 28. Wolfsville, Middletown, and Myersville elementary had the privilege to hear the Knights play different songs.

The Marching Knights played their half-time show, Malagueña, Paint It Black by the Rolling Stones, Middletown’s Fight Song, and two of their stand jams, Chant and Burrito.

Members of the Marching Band thought that the performances were a good idea. “It will get them excited about marching band and will get them to join in the future,” said Middletown High School Senior Amanda Woozley.

Other members thought it would help inspire the kids and get them involved with music. Middletown High School Junior Angelica Flowers said that it would be a chance to “introduce music to young kids who haven’t had the experience of watching a marching band before.”

They also hoped that the performances were to be successful and that the kids were to react in a positive way and will one day want to join band in High School. MHS Junior Phil DiGioia said that the “kids will be amazed,” while Senior Nick Pope said “They are going to ask us for our autographs.”

The performances were a success and the kids enjoyed themselves. Hopefully this will become a tradition to MHS and it will encourage the children to one day become a Middletown Marching Knight.
