Renovations made to Main Cup

Renovations+made+to+Main+Cup

On Jan.  23, the Main Cup shut its doors and made room for some eagerly anticipated renovations. Business has been booming over the past five years and the opportunity came at just the right time. With some new additions, the Main Cup will continue to stay a local favorite.

In order to conduct the renovation, changes needed to be made. “The kitchen is much larger now and we’ve added a pizza oven because we’re going do some changes to the menu in the future,” said Emma Brenengen, the owner’s daughter. “The bar is also double the size, and another room was added to allow for music and available reservation for parties.”

The Main Cup is planning to keep the same atmosphere, and with the renovations, they will be able to accommodate a larger amount of people. “The Main Cup’s atmosphere is part of the reason I like to go there with my friends. It’s a coffee shop, yet it has everything I want to eat on the menu at an affordable price,” said Andrea Toledo, a Middletown High School junior.

The Main Cup’s renovation project was anticipated to only take 10 days, which would conclude the renovations by Feb. 1. The project was completed on Feb. 12, and The Main Cup resumes with normal business. “It may have taken awhile to open, but the place looked great, and the atmosphere was still the same,” said Mary Trapp, a MHS  junior.
