Students prepare for AP exams

Middletown High School students are in the final stretch before taking their AP exams. “The pressure is definitely on,” says junior Nikki Willem.

From Psychology to Calculus, these exams are driving student’s nuts. Study groups are in the making and night after night, students prepare for these exams.

Jeff Colsh, MHS Psychology teacher, is helping his students get prepared for the big day by holding study sessions in his room after school.

Testing days are said to be very stressful and the rules are very strict. Faculty members are saying all students should leave their cell phones in their cars or at home until the test is complete. If not, your phone must be in the off position the entire duration of the exam; any phones that do go off during the exam will be taken out of the room and all test scores will be erased.

Senior Line Pendelton plans to grab as much coffee as she possibly can the morning of the exams to make sure she is awake and alert. Though many students plan to get their caffeine fix before the exams, studies are showing that this could fault you during the exam, causing students to crash from the caffeine.

Get an early start to bed the night before your AP exam, get up a little extra early, have a good breakfast and review you notes. This is said to be the recipe for a successful exam day.

Caffiene will just mess up your body even more than not getting enough sleep. If you can go to bed early enough, and wake up at a decent hour, the exam’s aren’t killer.
