Boys Cross Country: Knights look to continue recent success at Stoner Invitational

Recent success has the Knights set up for a good finish to the regular season. Can they continue this trend in Smithsburg?

The Middletown High School Knights Boys Varsity Cross Country will look to continue a string of good team finishes on Saturday at the Don Stoner Invitational at Smithsburg High School.

The Knights will go up against the likes of regional powerhouses such as the Boonsboro High School Warriors, the Waynesboro High School Little Giants, and the Williamsport High School Wildcats.

The Knights did well at their previous meet, the Frank Keyser Invitational in Boonsboro, coming in 7th place overall out of 20 teams in the Small School Division.

Along, with their team finish the Knights also did well individually, placing two of their runners in the top 10 of the Small Schools Division.

Knights junior Brent Leber came in second overall, with a time of 15:20.6, losing out only to Catoctin High School Cougars senior David Dorsey, by 30.1 seconds.

The other strong individual finisher for the Knights was senior Brandon Folio, finishing with a time of 15:54.5 good enough for seventh place overall.

After today the Knights will only have two regular season meets remaining taking on Boonsboro in a dual meet, and competing in the Georgetown Prep Relays on October 15th and 18th respectively.
