The Middletown High School varsity girls basketball team has now reached a breaking point in their season after a 59-44 loss over a winless Linganore High School Lancers team.

The Knights (4-4) put up less than 50 points for the fourth time in five games and were beaten by double digits for the third time in those five games.

Linganore (1-5) would have success offensively with the duo of seniors Kelli Griffith and Gabrielle Anwar who had 21 and 18 points respectively for the Lancers.

The Knights are now averaging just 44.4 points scored over the past five games and more importantly have given up 50.4 points per game.

This differs severely from the first three games of the season, in which the Knights averaged 66 points per game and only gave up an average 33.7 points per game.

Middletown was led by junior Carly Tolino who was four rebounds short of a double-double as she finished the night with 16 points and six rebounds.
