Girls Cross Country: Knights run to tie for fifth at Stoner Invitational

Tke Knights will look to carry their momentum from the regular season into the playoffs.

The Middletown High School Knights Girls Cross Country team used two strong finishes to tie for fifth place out of 10 teams at the Don Stoner Invitational in Smithsburg on Saturday.

Knights senior Annie Noffsinger came in 6th place overall with a time of 21:30.4 while sophomore Kristyn Staley finished with a time of 23:28.9.

The Knights used these finishes to tie for fifth and go against some of the top schools in Western Maryland.

Other finishers for the Knights were sophomore Emily Blumenauer who came in 29th overall with a time of 24:42.8, sophomore Madison Jones who came in 36th with a time of 25:54.3 and junior Katie Ott who came 47th place with a time of 26:43.7.

The Knights regular season has now ended and the Knights next meet will come at the MVAL Championship in Kemptown Park in mid-October hosted by Oakdale High School.
