Penn State is hosting an informational meeting for Juniors and Sophomores who would like more information about their university.  The meeting is on May third, from seven to nine p.m. at the Hampton Inn on Opossumtown Pike.  Also, Hofstra University is hosting a Spring Open House on April twenty-ninth for Juniors. Registrations for both events is required, and more information is available in Guidance.
Applications for the Miss Maryland Teen USA program can be found in the Guidance Office.  The program is open to students who are between fourteen and nineteen years of age.  The deadline is July first.
Are you looking for a job?  Plan to attend the Frederick County Job Fair on April seventeenth from one thirty to four thirty at the Frederick Fairgrounds Null Building.  Many local employers will be in attendance.
JUNIORS:  The University of Maryland will host the Portz Scholars Summer Program which is a four day residential experience hosted by the Honors College.  The priority deadline is April sixteenth.  More information is in Guidance.
Attention to all students who would like to have fun, shop for cool things, work with kids, and help the environment at the same time, all while earning meritorious service hours. The Boonsboro GreenFest is Saturday, May 12th, and Mr. Haardt, that “hippie wannabe” needs volunteers to help. Please notice the GreenFest posters around campus. You can go to www.boonsborogreenfest.com to sign up. Please see Mr Haardt or Mr. Zimmer for details and questions. The deadline to sign-up is April 30th.
The Drama Boosters scholarship deadline has been extended to Friday, April 20th.  Entries should be turned in to Ms. Head. (4/18)
Students who plan to take the May fifth or June second SAT may want to take a prep course offered by Middletown High School on April twenty-eighth from eight to ten a.m.  Mrs. Larson will be teaching the English session, and Mrs. Anderson will teach the Math.  Sign up in Guidance if interested. (4/27)
FFA Members have the opportunity to participate in a community service event at Bethel Farm as a field trip on April thirtieth.  It is part of the National FFA grant for the chapter’s project titled GROW FFA.  This opportunity is open to all FFA members on a first come first served basis.  Field trip forms are available on the FFA bulletin board.
Prom is quickly approaching and tickets will be on sale soon. The Dance guideline form must be completed before you may purchase a Prom ticket. Forms are available in the cafeteria, the media center or front office, or you may get one from Ms. Cashdollar or Mrs. Mattingly.
SGA will be holding elections for all four offices (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, and Secretary) during the week of May1st.  All interested individuals should see Mrs. Gibson or Mrs. Anderson this week and submit an application and speech no later than Monday, April 23rd.
Life must be measured by thought and action, not by time.
