Meet our Editors!

Managing Editor, Harper Nitz: Harper is a fellow student at MHS in 12th grade. She enjoys reading and writing of all kinds and is eager to help other writers have a voice. The quickest way into Harper’s literary heart is deviation from the norm. Her favorite authors include Sylvia Plath, Kurt Vonnegut, and Thomas Pynchon.

Fiction Editor, Alexander Leist: Alexander is a senior at Middletown High School, and is the fiction editor for the Creative Writing Club. He is also an avid watcher and enjoyer of HouseMD.
Art Editor, Bowie Wieczorek: Bowie is a senior at MHS and also just happens to be the Knight Writers Art Editor. They enjoy creating visual art with paintings and drawings, as well as creating the occasional digital artwork. Bowie’s favorite art tool is the Prismacolor Premier colored pencil. Their favorite book is Frankenstein and they are working up the courage to start reading Dracula. They would love to see students submit some intriguing new art for the literary journal!

Web Editor, Nicholas Stup: Nicholas has been named the world’s best author nine times under ten different pseudonyms. He
understands that while submitted bios—such as Alexander Leist’s—might be boring, fabricated bios add a unique spice and perspective to life. Seventeen years after leaving professional writing Nicholas now finds himself here, serving as the “web editor” for this journal. Known works include Harry Potter, Ender’s Game, Don Quixote, and several Sonic x Shadow fanfics.

Assistant Managing Editor, Madelyn Bear: Madelyn is an 11th grade student at MHS. She enjoys reading fantasy and dystopia. Her favorite series is Once Upon a Broken Heart by Stephanie Meyer. The authors that she loves are Mary Shelley and Holly Black. Madelyn hopes to publish a fantasy novel of her own one day!

Assistant Fiction Editor, Addy Harrigan: Addy is in 10th grade and enjoys realistic fiction and poetry.

Assistant Poetry Editor, Lilliana Keyfauver: Lilliana is in 10th grade and is the assistant poetry editor. She likes reading poetry and listening to music. Her favorite author is Edgar Allan Poe for “The Raven” and “Annabel Lee.” She looks forward to being an audience for your work!

Don Quixote is my favorite book! Do you think you could sign my copy? I can’t believe the 1605 classic that redefined literature was written by a high schooler! It is crazy what the young are capable of.
