The Middletown Knights wrestling team finished 2nd in the 1A 2A state individual wrestling tournament on Saturday at the Show Place Arena in Upper Marlboro. This is only the second time Middletown has been the runner up in school history.  7 out of 10 Middletown wrestlers placed in the state tournament. We had 3 state champions which is a 1st for Middletown wrestling. It was Adam Bain’s 1st state championship, Sean Mullican’s 2nd consecutive state championship, and Danny Bertoni’s 4th consecutive state championship. Danny becomes only the 6th person in Maryland State Wrestling history to win 4 state championships! Tyler Clemmer placed 2nd after placing 5th last year. Other state place winners included: Josh Paige in 3rd, Sean Herrmann in 5th, and Mert Gulen in 6th. Wrestling well but not placing were Jeremy Farron, Jason Guglielmini, and Cam Farrow. The Knights end the season at 29 and 1 as Maryland Dual Meet State Champions, Maryland Individual State Runner Ups, Regional Champions, and County Champions.  Congratulations to all!  Thanks to the entire school for their support of the wrestlers.
