Get your Chipotle fix this weekend and support MHS lacrosse. The Middletown Lacrosse teams will have a  fundraiser at Chipotle, Westview this Sunday from four to eight PM. Before your order is rung up, please let them know you are supporting Middletown Lacrosse.

Attention Science National Honor Society members: There is a meeting today at two thirty and also one at five o’clock. Please plan to attend one of the meetings. They will both take place in the Media Center.

Members of the Spanish Honor Society: The February meeting will be on Monday after school in Mr. Lupian’s room at two thirty.

Seniors: Share your talent at Baccalaureate! Be the M C or sing, dance, do a reading, or play an instrument. Look for the sign-up sheet on the senior bulletin board in the cafeteria and be sure to sign up by April first.

Congratulations to Charlotte Grace, a ninth grade MHS student, who was one of the ten finalists selected for the 2016 Elizabeth Barker Delaplaine Award for Young Artists Exhibition. Charlotte wins one hundred dollars and her work will be on display at the Delaplaine from March fifth through the twenty-seventh.

The MHS Ice Hockey team takes the ice against Broadneck in the Maryland state playoffs tonight. Game time is eight o’clock at the Rockville Ice Arena.

The Science National Honor Society is partnering with “Give A Book” to collect all types of gently used or new books that will benefit children and adults who are illiterate in the Frederick County area and other areas in the state of Maryland. The book drive will occur during lunches starting Monday, February twenty-second and continue through Friday, March fourth. For every five books donated, your name will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win prizes. The winners will be announced at the end of the day on March fourth. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Brandt or Felicia Clements.

The MHS Key Club is collecting donations for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Society is the world’s largest voluntary health organization dedicated to funding blood cancer research and education. Place donations in the which box in your second period class until February nineteenth. Any donation is appreciated.

Congratulations to the Knights Swim Team in a strong showing at the Region meet last week at the Fairland Aquatics Center.  The boys placed fourth with top six place finishes from Jacob Boone, Jacob Stafford, John Pressly, Tyler Sheppard,  Jacob Hoyt, and Hayden Springer. A special congratulations to John Pressly for being crowned 3A-2A-1A Region Champion in the two hundred freestyle and one hundred butterfly events!  John set a new meet record in the two hundred freestyle. The girls placed seventh with top six place finishes from Sophia Stafford, Raegan Corcoran,Kylie Slusher and Maggie Williamson.

The following swimmers qualified for the state meet that will be held at University of Maryland Eppley Center tomorrow starting at four PM: Josh Baird, Holly Ballentine, Alec Boone, Jacob Boone, Kayla Burgess,Raegan Cocoran, Olivia Edsall, Brittany Heckler, Paul Hillsman, Jacob Hoyt, Maggie McLister, John Pressly, Matt Roumeliotis, Tyler Sheppard, Kylie Slusher, Hayden Springer, Jacob Stafford, Sophia Stafford, Hannah Truitt, Maggie Williamson and Evan Wilson.  Come on out and see our Knights make a splash at the championship meet!  Go Knights!
We kick off National FFA week on Monday and we hope you will join us. Help us celebrate by participating in our spirit day Maryland Monday! Show off your Maryland spirit by wearing your red, yellow, black and white.

Eat, enjoy and support the Middletown FFA Chapter by joining us on Monday, February at The Main Cup from five PM until close. The Main Cup will be donating fifteen percent of all proceeds towards the FFA Chapter.
