Remember to bring in your new or gently used winter accessories or outerwear to your first block teacher. The class with the most donations will receive cupcakes after school on Dec. 21st. The winter clothing drive is being hosted by the sophomore executive board and runs through Friday.  

Are you a student leader? Do you think you have what it takes to be the voice of all students in Frederick County Public Schools? Do you want to make a difference? FCPS is accepting applications for the 2016-2017 Student Member of the Board. Any current tenth or eleventh grader is eligible to apply. Attention seniors: Let your parents know that there are only five days left to purchase a baby ad for the yearbook. They won’t want to miss out on this once-in-a-lifetime chance to send you a special message accompanied by funny and touching photos from your past. Have them go to Jostens dot com to purchase their ad. If you have questions, see Mr. Kady in Room 312.

The Young Democratic Socialists are sponsoring a fundraiser for Heifer International, benefiting impoverished families around the world. The fundraiser will begin today at lunch, and will run through next Tuesday. 

 

Attention Spanish Honor Society members: There will be a meeting after School today at 2:30 P.M. in Mr. Lupian’s room.

Do you love this time of year? Come celebrate with the horticulture department and make a beautiful holiday arrangement. This workshop is free and all students are welcome. Just show up tomorrow from 2:30-4:30 in Room 439. All participants will be able to take their arrangements home. Hope to see you there!

Student Government Association is sponsoring holiday spirit days on Monday, Dec. 21st and Tuesday, Dec. 22nd.  Monday is winter pajama day and Tuesday is ugly sweater day.

The Knight wrestling team went to North Hagerstown over the weekend for a tri-match with powerhouse North Hagerstown and perennial power Williamsport. The Knights started off with a 42-18 win against Williamsport. Next up was North Hagerstown who beat Williamsport. In a hard fought match, The Knights prevailed with a 31-29 victory. Sean Herrmann and Tyler Clemmer each finished with two pins, while Beau Herrmann , Danny Bertoni and Josh Paige also went 2-0 for Middletown. The Knights are currently 10-1 on the season and there are five Middletown wrestlers ranked in the top 20 in the State at their weight classes. Congratulations Middletown High School wrestlers!

The MHS Ice Hockey team trounced the Walkersville Lions 14-1 on Friday evening to improve their record to a perfect 5-0. Come out to Skate Frederick tomorrow night when the Knights square off against Carroll County. Puck drops at 8:00 P.M.
