A picture is worth a thousand words, and now it could be worth a prize too, in the Frederick County Department of Solid Waste Management’s T-Shirt Design Contest!  Local residents are asked to submit artwork that promotes the “three R’s” of waste reduction: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.  The winning designer will be awarded a $150 prepaid gift card and see their design reproduced on t-shirts distributed locally. We have several copies available of The Boys in the Boat, the book that inspired Middletown’s state champion soccer team–why not give it a try? We also have lots and lots of books available for downloading on your own device, so come into the library and ask Mrs. Reickel how to get started.

Students: Are you interested in running a 5 K that supports a Frederick County student’s battle with cancer? The 5 K takes place on Saturday, Jan. 2nd and supports a New Market middle school student who has Lymphoma. Go to p p f i n c dot org to sign up for the 5 K and support Cody Reid. Hey Knights fans, come out tonight to cheer on our lady knights as they take on Williamsport at home, show your Middletown High School student identification and you will get in free tonight! Elsewhere tonight, our track team heads to Prince George’s county to compete and our wrestling team travels to Thomas Johnson for a 6:00 P.M. match. Good luck to all of our teams competing tonight.
