There is an important wrestling team meeting today at two fifteen in room 314.  All team members are needed for the meeting.  You will be voting on awards, discussing state championship jackets, collecting locks, and looking at spring wrestling opportunities.

Congratulations to Danny Bertoni and Sean Mullican, both of whom won 1A 2A Maryland state wrestling championships this weekend in their respective weight classes. Josh Paige and Adam Bain both finished second, while Tyler Clemmer and Ed Guerrero were fifth. Congratulations to all the knight wrestlers on a great tournament and a great season!

 

The Door Decorating Contest begins today. Your door may reflect any literary work. It does not have to be related to Dr. Seuss. The judging of the doors will be Friday, March eighteenth at two thirty.

There will be a Unified Track meeting after school today in Room 427.


The next planning meeting for the Senior Baccalaureate is tomorrow at seven PM in Room 211. Seniors are welcome to attend as well as any parents who wish to volunteer. For more info, check out the “Middletown High Class of 2016 Baccalaureate Facebook page”.

Congratulations to Jordan Bramhall for becoming The Distinguished Young Woman of Northern Frederick County for 2017! Jordan competed with thirteen other young women and was awarded six thousand dollars in cash to be used at the college of her choice. Anyone graduating in 2018 is eligible to sign up now. For more information, speak with Jordan or your guidance counselor.

Attention all AP students: This is the last week to register for AP tests! Bring your completed registration forms as soon as possible to Mrs. Spangler in the front office or register with School Cash Online.

Registration for the Annual Countywide Science and Engineering Fair for Middle and High School Students closes Monday, March fourteenth at four PM. The fair will be held on Saturday, April second at Tuscarora High School. For more information, go to FCPS dot org.

Congratulations to the boys basketball team who defeated Oakland Mills in the 2A West Regional Final game on Friday night! To celebrate the first boy’s basketball region championship in seventeen years, the team will be selling Region Championship t-shirts on Thursday and Friday during all lunch shifts, the cost of the shirts is twelve dollars.

The boys basketball state semifinal game will be on Friday, March eleventh at nine PM at the University of Maryland Xfinity Center. MHS will provide a pep bus which will leave MHS at seven PM. The cost is five dollars per student. Permission slips and a sign-up sheet will be available during all lunch shifts today through Wednesday. Money and permission slips will be collected by Mrs. Cosgray in the copy room from Wednesday through Friday during lunches. All students who want to ride the pep bus must have a signed permission slip and money turned in to Mrs. Cosgray no later than twelve thirty on Friday.
