The CAD Engineering Class from the Career & Technology center up at Frederick Community college is having a music fundraiser event. They are raising money for their team to travel to MIT this summer to present the water remediation system they designed for an impoverished community in Ethiopia. If you like music or food join them at TJ High School on February 24th from 3:30-8:30. There will be awesome local bands like “The Great Heights band” and “After the Broken,” as well as food and drinks provided by local restaurants. The tickets will be $15 at the door, or you can contact Duncan Rozak or Brian McGiffin to buy tickets for $10 in advance. Please come support the team and their invention, as well as support some incredible local talent!

With the Super Bowl teams set as the Eagles and Patriots, Mr. Mattingly’s class voted on the designs of the NFL teams’ helmets. Check it out and see if either team made the list.

It’s time for the 2nd annual drug awareness video contest. Create a video between 30 seconds to a minute answering the question “Why are drugs bad?” The deadline is March 1st and multiple prizes will be given out to the winners.

Are you interested in playing girls lacrosse this spring? There will be an informational meeting on Thursday, January 25th at two thirty. The meeting will be held in the heritage room and will last until about three fifteen. Contact Coach White if you are interested but cannot attend the meeting.

For the past 25 years, the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches have collaborated to unite basketball coaches and fans through the Coaches vs. Cancer program to defeat a common enemy – cancer. Because of their passion and dedicated support, the impact has been felt in communities nationwide. Through fundraising and education initiatives, the Coaches vs. Cancer program has supported the American Cancer Society in helping to save more lives from cancer. In fact, there has been a 25% reduction in cancer death rates since 1991! But the fight isn’t over. This week is Coaches vs. Cancer. Each game played this week raises funds for the American Cancer Society. Support this great cause.

The girls basketball team won last night against the Brunswick Railroaders 62-32. Great job Knights!

The boys basketball team plays tonight at home against the Brunswick Railroaders. JV tips off at 5:30 and varsity at 7. Come out and support your Knights!
