Attention all students: Club and organization photos will be taken today. Please check the schedules posted on the bulletin boards near the bathrooms in the senior hallway or next to Room 312, or the one near the auditorium doors. Remember that it is your responsibility to know your club photo time. You should leave your classroom five minutes before your scheduled time. If you have any questions, please come to the auditorium and speak to one of the yearbook staff members.

The Middletown Knights wrestling team won the 1A 2A West regional dual championship last night held at MHS.  Middletown defeated Southern Garrett forty to thirty in the semifinals and the Knights beat South Carroll forty-one to thirty-four for the regional championship.  The state semifinals will be Saturday, February thirteenth at North Pointe High School.  Semifinal matches start at noon and finals are at five PM.   Thanks to all the Middletown fans for coming out last night to support us!

Voting has begun for the next Student Member of the Board of Education.  Voting will run through February twenty-ninth. Candidate and voting information can be found on the SGA board in the cafeteria.

Do you have a book that you love?  How about a favorite character?  Beginning Friday, February twelfth, you may complete a “Book Crush.”  The National English Honor Society would love to know who you love or who you love to hate.  Pick up a Book Crush form from an English teacher, during lunch shifts, or in the media center.  You may return them to Ms. Leonard in Room, 517 or drop them in the box in the cafeteria.

Savannah College of Art and Design will be visiting MHS on Monday, February twenty-second at ten AM.  Please sign up through your Naviance account if you are interested in attending.

Congratulations to Camden Raynor and Adrienne Lowery for placing in the VFW Essay Contest.  Both Camden’s and Adrienne’s essays were on Voice of Democracy. Camden placed first winning two hundred dollars while Adrienne placed third winning seventy-five dollars.

Attention students:Your counselors are working on next year’s schedule. If you have not turned in your registration form, you need to do so tomorrow so you get the courses you have selected.

Last night, the MHS Ice Hockey team pummeled Urbana nine to two in playoff action. Tonight, they will take on Oakdale for the championship. Come out and watch them win their second consecutive title. Game starts at seven at Skate Frederick. See you there!

The Class of 2016 would like to congratulate Paige Rhoderick and Eddie Guerrero for being selected as Mr. and Ms. February.  Paige and Eddie will each receive a ninety-nine dollar ski and snowboarding package courtesy of Whitetail Resort. Congratulations Paige and Eddie!

The Science National Honor Society is having a mandatory meeting this Friday during club block in Ms. Brandt’s room. You will need to get a pass from Ms. Brandt in advance to leave your club. If you cannot attend for any reason, speak to Ms. Brandt before the meeting time.

Footloose auditions will be held today after school in the auditorium.  They will begin promptly at three and run until six.  We encourage all students to come and show us your talent!  These auditions are for any student that was unable to attend last night.  Those who auditioned last night need not come today.  If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Duva in room 514.

Attention all those interested in participating in crew or in builds for Footloose:  A tech meeting will be held in the auditorium after school next Thursday, February eighteenth.  The set building requirements and tech crew positions will be reviewed.  Any student who is interested is able to participate.  If you are unable to attend, please see Mrs. Duva.

Attention students interested in spending a year abroad: The Jodi Kiefer Memorial Scholarship covers one hundred per cent of the year program fee and complete airfare costs. Scholarships will be chosen by merit and proof of financial need and are applicable to any country. Applications are due March first. Please contact Mrs Stutzman in Learning Cottage three if you are interested in more information.

Don’t forget to buy a rose for your sweetie, parent, friend or sibling this Valentine’s Day! Roses will be on sale today and tomorrow at all lunch shifts until sold out. Red Roses are four dollars each and all other colors are three dollars each.

Attention FFA members: The Ag Mechanics team will be practicing today after school from three to five PM. The Vet Science team will be practicing today after school from two thirty to three fifteen PM. If you are interested, please attend.

All this week, Future Business Leaders of America will be selling the results from the Data Match forms that students filled out.  You can purchase your results at the school store for just two dollars.
