The Student Government Association will be conducting a fundraiser for the Wounded Warriors Project in honor of Veterans’ Day, from Saturday, Nov. 14 through Friday, Dec. 4. Jars with the Wounded Warriors symbol will be placed throughout small businesses in the Middletown, Myersville, and Wolfsville communities. There will also be a jar provided during lunch shifts. Please consider supporting of our nation’s veterans.

Anyone interested in joining the Middletown High School diving team, please stop in to see Ms. Chestnutt in room 512 today or tomorrow for information.

Tonight is MHS Senior Night at the Westview Chipotle on Buckeystown Pike from five to eight PM. Remember to mention the MHS Class of 2016. Thanks for your support!

There will be Unified Bocce drop-ins tomorrow in the cafeteria from 2:30 to 3:30. Stop in and see how the game is played!

Attention all tech crew interested in participating in A Christmas Carol:  There will be a tech meeting this Thursday in the auditorium from five to six. Please see Mrs. Duva if you are unable to attend.  Also, set building will begin this Saturday from nine to three.

The boys soccer team will be home today against Century at six PM. Tomorrow the MHS field hockey team will travel to Broadneck high school to play Marriott’s Ridge at five PM in the state semifinal game.

MHS is excited to help you find your career connection. The MHS Stem and Career initiative will be providing students with the opportunity to attend presentations on various STEM and Career topics throughout the year during Activity Friday. Students will have opportunities to sign up to hear guest speakers and presenters on variety of career and STEM topics throughout the year. Your first opportunity will be this Friday and we will have two workshops being presented: Wood Carving – Learning the Lathe and Green Works – the Art of Landscaping and Floral Design. Take advantage of this great opportunity and sign up today and tomorrow during lunch. Students may sign up by tomorrow at three PM. We hope you will join us for this great experience!

Each year, the Prudential Spirit of Community Award recognizes students who have been active in service projects in their community.  This year, the following students are being commended for their participation:  Jerry Bower, William Bower, Felicia Clements, Michael Donaldson and Camden Raynor. This year, Middletown High School’s representative to the state level competition is Michael Donaldson. Good luck Michael and congratulations to each of these students for working to better the community.

Congratulations to the MHS Ice Hockey team for their impressive seven to three win against Frederick County. Come out and see the Knights continue their title defense this Friday night at Skate Frederick. Puck drops at seven PM.

Congrats to Varsity Volleyball on their playoff win last night versus Mountain Ridge.  The Knights swept the Miners winning three to zero and were lead by Erika Pritchard with 13 kills, Helena Ottenritter with seven kills and four blocks, Erin O’Connor with three blocks and Kelsey Buckley with 26 assists. Volleyball heads to Williamsport tomorrow night for the 2A west section one finals. First serve at six. See you there!
