Representatives from the Frederick League of Women Voters will be at MHS in the cafeteria during lunches on Thursday, February twenty-fifth. Students who wish to register to vote should stop by the table and be sure to bring an MVA issued driver’s license, learner’s permit or a social security number.

Attention Quill and Scroll members and those interested in joining this semester: This month’s meeting has been cancelled. The next meeting will be Wednesday, March second. All current members and anyone interested in joining this semester should plan on attending. Put it on your calendar now!

The Middletown FFA chapter is looking for donations in order to complete a service project packing care packages for soldiers. We will be collecting all this week and next week. We are in need of: female and male hygiene products, regular hygiene products, office supplies, and snacks. There will be collection boxes in the cafeteria and in the front of the school. We hope that you will help support this great event.

The first set building session for Footloose will be this Sunday, February twenty-first from ten AM to four PM. The complete build schedule will be available soon.

Congratulations to the Middletown Knights wrestling team for winning the Maryland 1A 2A dual meet state championship this past Saturday at North Pointe High School!  Middletown defeated Oakland Mills High School in the state semifinals and then defeated Dunbar High School in the state finals thirty-six to twenty-five to win the school’s first ever wrestling dual meet state championship.  The Knights finish the dual meet season with a thirty and one record.  The Frederick County Wrestling Tournament is this Friday and Saturday.  The JV wrestlers will compete on Friday and the varsity wrestlers will compete on Saturday at Oakdale High School.  Congrats to the Middletown wrestling team!

Next week is National FFA week! We hope you will join of FFA members in celebrating.

Every day there are great things happening at Middletown High School! To nominate  a staff member who has made a difference for you, go to the MHS website and look for the Staff Member of the Month form under the Parents and Students tab.

Science National Honor Society members: There is a meeting this Friday. You should plan to attend either the two thirty to three o’clock meeting or the one from five to five thirty.  Those seeking to apply for the Vice Presidency should look at the S N H S board in the cafeteria.

Congratulations to our MHS students who recently took part in the regional Skills USA competition. Placing first for Middletown were Astrid Cordero-Nieves in health knowledge and Magdalena Burgoon in cosmetology. Placing second were Catherine Toms in health knowledge and Zoe Maliszewskyj in TV and video production. Placing third were Jacob Hessong in collision repair, Paige Vandegrift in CSI, and Hunter Hebeisen in digital cinema. Congratulations to all who participated!
