It is once again time to get ready for the annual Drama trip to The Big Apple! The trip will be May 15 and 16 and includes two Broadway shows, a professional theater workshop, tours of New York City’s famous sites, transportation, hotel accommodations, and dinner at the Hard Rock Café. A deposit of $100 is due to Mrs. Duva by next Friday, Jan. 16. Stop by to see Mrs. Duva in room 514 for an informational brochure.

Seniors – Are you ready to show off your new holiday pajamas? On Friday, seniors and festive staff are welcome to don their school appropriate loungewear at school for the day. Participating seniors need to sign up at lunches this week in the cafeteria. Also, enjoy a mini-movie during your lunch on Friday in the auditorium. Welcome the winter months in senior style on Friday!

The USA MRIID application process for 2015-2016 Interns is now open. Applications are available on Mrs. Gibson’s webpage or stop by Room 315 to pick up a copy. These are due to Mrs. Gibson by Friday, Jan. 23.

Are you an optimistic person? Do you think “Optimism Should be a Priority”? The Optimist Club of Frederick is sponsoring its yearly writing contest with cash prizes at the local and district levels. See Ms. Leonard in Room 510 for information.

There will be theatre tech this Saturday from 9:00-3:00  in the auditorium to work on the One Act play sets. We will also be finishing the light plot. All tech crews are encouraged to attend. There will be no tech on Sunday.

Congratulations to Jake Evans who has been selected from an initial pool of over 100,000 applicants as a Semifinalist in the Coca-Cola Scholars Program! Jake will now continue through the selection process with an opportunity to receive a$20,000 scholarship.
